Cấu trúc câu điều kiện loại 2
Trước khi có thể làm tốt các bài tập câu điều kiện loại 2, thì chúng ta cần nắm rõ một số kiến thức cơ bản liên quan đến câu điều kiện này.
Câu điều kiện loại 2 là câu điều kiện trái với thực tế ở hiện tại, nó dùng để diễn tả những ước muốn khó có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.
Cấu trúc:
If clause Main clause
If + S + Verb quá khứ (Were/ weren’t/ V2/ed) S + Would/could/… + V_inf
Ex: If she refused, I would be very happy. (Nếu cô ấy ta từ chối, tối sẽ rất vui) => Thực tế anh ta không từ chối
Lưu ý:
Trong câu điều kiện loại 2, ở mệnh để If thì động từ chia ở bàng thái cách (past subjunctive). Tức là là hình thức chia động từ giống thì quá khứ đơn (Simple Past).
Còn ở mệnh đề chính thì động từ chia ở tương lai trong quá khứ (Future in the past). Nhưng riêng động từ “to be” thì dùng “were” cho tất cả các ngôi.
